Hard seltzers are big business
You may have heard whispers of the new hard seltzer category- it’s currently fairly small in the UK, but growing rapidly. Already a hit in the States, last year 52% of Americans swapped a beer for a hard seltzer and 40% chose it over a cocktail.
2020 sales of hard seltzer in the US are estimated to hit $4.3bn – a 270% increase from 2019, and is forecasted to triple by 2023. With these figures in mind, it is unsurprising the IWSR predicts that hard seltzer will likely witness the highest growth rate within the UK’s Ready to Drink (RTD) category, with a forecast volume compound annual growth rate (CAGR )of 71.7% from 2019 to 2024.
